If a large portion of your workforce is not English-speaking, you've probably already purchased Enhanced Translation. If not, it may be worth your time to check it out. It allows instant translation of your message board, problem reports, and cleaning instructions into over 100 languages so you and your team can communicate without barriers.

Ensuring Enhanced Translation is Configured

Web app Setup

  1. Log into your account at app.sweptworks.com
  2. Click the "gear" icon on the top right and select "Settings"
  3. Under the "Language" field, select your language from the dropdown menu
  4. Click the blue "Update" button at the bottom

Mobile Setup

  1. Log into the Swept app (download here)
  2. Click the "gear" icon on the top right and select "Settings"
  3. Under the "Language" field, select your language from the drop-down menu
  4. Click the blue "Save" button

Setting Up Your Cleaners Language

  1. Click on the green "edit" button next to the cleaners name
  2. Change the "Language" drop-down to be their native language
  3. Click the blue "Update" button at the bottom

Note: when a language preference is set for an account, that account must always text in that language. For example, if an account is set to Spanish and the user sends a message in Portuguese, the system will not understand and simply output the original text because it was expecting Spanish.

Common Pitfalls

After Enhanced Translation has been enabled on your account, there are some common pitfalls you can fall into that may make you believe that your new feature is not working.

  • Your language settings are not set but you're typing in a different language
  • The person receiving your communication does not have their language setting set appropriately
  • The language setting was thought to have been set but the "Save"/"Update" button was not clicked (Double check this by looking at their account information from the Web App)

For Example

The translation will not work if you set your language to Spanish and type in English:

But it will work if you set your language to English, type in English and the receiver has set to their language of preference accordingly:
